Participating in a group when you have problems with some members
I had a falling out with a few friends of mine. I feel like it was my fault, and I'm working on making the changes I need to avoid what happened in the future. But right now I can't talk to them. The problem I now have is that they're part of a larger group that's currently my primary social outlet. I don't think they'd want me out of that group, but since I know they don't want to talk to me it's making it difficult for me to participate. Right now all of my interaction with the group is online using text but there's going to be future events where I may see them in person, and right now thinking of that gives me enough anxiety I'm not sure I could sign up to go. I'm almost positive they'd be okay with it, we could have minimal interaction, and maybe time would heal things between us. But I'm not confident enough that I could handle the anxiety I know I'd get from seeing them.
It can be tough to have issues with other members in a group. Unfortunately it does happen as not everyone is going to get along with those in these groups. It sounds that you understand that time might be able to fix it. What do you think you can do currently to help yourself feel less anxious well being around them?
