Therapist
I hope this doesn't sound insensitive, ignorant, or selfish. but I have been getting kinda exhausted always taking care of people 24/7. I love making sure people are okay and they have someone they can talk to, but it gets to a point where I'm only a therapist to them. I hope this doesn't come off mean. but I'm in a group chat with three other girls, and this one girl only talks about herself. I'm glad she has somewhere she can go to talk about whatever is going on. but it just makes it harder for me to go to people and ask for help because I feel like I shouldn't or I don't deserve it. And I can't really talk about it to her because I don't want to some how hurt her feelings and I don't really have the opportunity to.
@smolstrawberries this is not selfish in any way! im sorry that this is happening to you. leaning on people when needed is totally okay but there comes a point where it becomes too much and you are carrying the weight for the other person. this sounds like what it is happening to you, you're being forced to carry your friend's weight. in this case it is totally okay to withdraw for a bit, it is not your reponsibility to carry everybody else's problems.hope this helps!!
@smolstrawberries
You gotta make sure you take care of your needs, and are heard, vent, decompress, and know you are cared about! We care about you and you should be consciencious of advocating for your needs and be able to express yourself openly in any conversation. You know who needs to hear how you feel? The people you help need to learn not to be selfish and learn how to help offer support. Its all about balance, so we dont tip over 😊
