Underappreciated
I guess I just feel like I am surrounded by people who place a large emotional demand on me and I get nothing in return from them and its all coming to a head and I feel very overwhelmed. I have no support from my girlfriend because these people are her friends too, my family says to distance myself but then I am completely alone.
You are not alone. I to feel the same way. I have found that if I take a trip like go to a town away from where I live, maybe just a night, maybe 2 nights away to myself. That I am able to be alone and work to process my feelings and emotions. It's not always easy to get away, and that's why I have joined this website. What are your ideas?@willingFig4300
@Bama1976 I am the same I like to get away and disconnect but that sometimes makes it worse last time I did that they were all waiting when I got back saying they were worried but really just missing what I could give them. I have joined this site because its nice to have an impartial voice to vent to, I already feel much better after having spent the morning intermittently crying at my desk, sometimes strangers are pretty great!
@willingFig4300
your family is right here I think. Of course it isn't that simple (if it was you already had done something about it) BUT just because those people are friends of your girlfriend doesn't mean they have to be yours.
Spend time with her but tell her those people don't go towards your interests. You're allowed to not like certain people. And if they don't give back they for sure can't even be considered friends.
@Booklover95 yeah absolutely, sometimes it just takes time to come to the realisation that its really not a healthy situation and you need to prioritise yourself, especially when your opinion of yourself may not be the greatest, but I think Im at that point where I can make the cut and do what I need to do.
