Short backstory: My teenage daughter has two friends they have been very close and I close with their moms. (My only friends) well they met the person and became friends with him there was some drama and this guy made a death threat to my daughter. Her friends didnt take up for her in the moment. One girl unfriended him later. I'm finding out about this today and it happened nearly a month ago. I reach out to my friends to make them aware and they already knew. I'm pissed that they didnt say anything to me... they say they thought I knew. This is serious right? Or am I overreacting at being upset with them for not telling me. My daughter has cut ties with both girls and guy of course. I don't want to lose my friends, but I have to side with my daughter.

You are right it is serious and your friends are totally innocent in this. Since your daughter should've told you about this. I believe you could remain friends with them, because they don't have anything to do with the guy and also this is totally independent from her situation. But communication is key. You have to stay open with your daughter on what you are going to do. Also ask her how she might feel about it if you continued your friendships. Based on her reaction you could continue or stop you friendships

@passionateLemon5863 the first rule of friendship is trust. By not sharing with you something as serious as this, your friends did not adhere to the rules of a respectful friendship. However, misunderstandings happen and your daughter should be the first to confide in you. Since some time has passed, I'd suggest you talk to your daughter first, and then your friends to clear things out. It might be a misunderstanding, and expressing your disappointment/anger in a healthy way could be beneficial for your relationships.
