does my frend miss me
okay my friend and I had to give each other space for a while. yesterday i saw him at lunch while walking around and seeing my other friends. i happened to look and he was over by the next table and i waved to him and he waved back to me the second time around he waved back.when he saw me he kind of looked sad and he just sat there for a long few mins and finaly got up and threw something away and the can was behind me ,he did not say anything to me. then he sat back down and then after a few mins he got out homework. and he a few times he look up ,sometimes at me and sometimes around the cafe. does he miss me

It's hard to say if he misses you or not. What you shared above doesn't really mean his behavior is in any way connected with you or with the fact you guys decided to give each other a bit of space.
I don't understand what this space means. What made you decide to let yourself have a bit more space or not talk with each other as much anymore?
Also, if he misses you what does that mean to you? What would that trigger in you?
Acting the way he acted might have had connection with you or something else on his mind that day. But ... what stops you from asking him?
