one sided friendship
Hi, since i was a teenager (im in my mid 20s now) i was never really having friends. if i want to hangout with them i should always be the one who invites my 'friends' (and they dont generally accept the invitation tho).
and if i stop inviting them then i wont see them that much anymore. whats wrong with me? why nobody's wanted me to be around them?
and i dont really like to spend my time with myself as well, because my thought tends to lead me to have anxiety and loneliness. so i drown myself with mindless social media and endless movie just to keep me numb for awhile. what should i do? i feel very much trapped and i dont know where to begin with.
I am the exact same way. I continue to hangout with people that put no effort towards me and then end up disappointed. It’s a difficult situation. I hope you find people that put in as much effort as you do
I feel just like this. Im always the person who asks, i always expect a no so when they say yes i get so so excited. A couple years ago I stopped hitting up everyone to see if anyone would hit my up, I lost like all those "friends". After that it got better for a while, i had one or two friends and I apprichiated them, i still do. But when I try to make new things or keep up other friendships they always feel one sided. They never ask me to hang out, even when ive told them how I feel. I keep wondering if theres something wrong with me or if i just havent found the right People. I also just sit with social media at home. I hate weekends cause everyones out and im just at home seeing it on social media. Ill go weeks without meeting anyone. I feel so lonely tbh
i completely understand this. its always been this way for me too. i think u arent friends with the right ppl. u said u dont like spending time alone so i assume u already have developed enough social skills to make more friends and talk to more ppl. (if u havent tho i have advice for that, reply if u need help with socializing)
id say make as many friends and acquaintances as possible and determine which of those ppl appreciate u for who u are and want to be friends with u.
i really hope things get better for u and u find real friends
