Anything for her
Hey I’m new to this so forgive me if i don’t do this right or trigger anything. I’m currently trying to work on myself to become the person I used to be, I was kind and caring and promised the girl who’s stolen my heart I’d give her the world. But than I had to rely on her for my protection and safety I became used to it like a cradled baby while she took the stress of the world on alone . She noticed this change in me and slowly resented me for it we fought constantly I make a promise to get better we made up and rinse and repeat I created a cycle where I slowly chipped away at our relationship till one day she had enough. She broke up with me but we stayed close like she was giving me a chance to redeem myself but even then I stayed the same and she saw that and moved on from me she’s got a situationship going on now and every time I see her with him I remember what I’ve done and who I’ve lost. Now I’m getting the help I need I’m working on my many problems i plan to make all the promises I gave her come true. I’m going to wait for her she knows anything she needs from me she does not need to hesitate to ask. I’m going to fix myself and if she ever needs me I’ll be waiting for her the boy she used to love thank you for reading any advice on self improvement is appreciated
@adaptableKiwi8734 That sounds quite sweet. It's necessary sometimes to rely on others for protection - many folks will do anything to survive. I've been in the self-improvement world for many years, and finding support on places like 7Cups is your first step.
So, here's some more random advice:
- Find more motivation to improve yourself. You might get into a slump at some point where you really don't want to do anything. Collect videos, podcasts, images, and music that helps remind you where you want to be.
- Take care of your appearance. Sometimes looking good can make you feel good, so it's often worth a try. This can mean healthy eating, skincare, hygiene, etc.
- Use positive affirmations to encourage you to believe in yourself.
- WikiHow is surprisingly helpful.
- The hard one: Find a strong "why." If she does not come back, you could keep going for any future relationships, for family, for yourself to know you can make it, etc. This is a worst-case scenario, but I've done many things for people who didn't care in the end and know how awful it can feel, so it's nice to have a backup reason.
Hope this is helpful.
Hi Kiwi,
Just remember that no one comes with a guarantee that says “I’m perfect and if you do not like what you get, you can return me in x amount of days”. We all have our good, great, bad, and not so great moments. It took a lot of courage and strength for you to post and share your story, that’s remarkable and you should be very proud of yourself for that. Have you considered joining a book club, going to the gym, a walking group something you like to do for a hobby that will get your mind off of things and investing fun time in YOU:)!
