Breakup
Last year in April, I started losing everything — my home, my car — life just hit hard. I moved in with my girlfriend at the time for a while, and then I moved out in October to try and get back on my feet. Not long after I moved out, she broke up with me.
I’m 27 now, and we were together for six years. And to be honest, I was getting back on my feet so I could propose. That was the plan. I know for a fact we would’ve been engaged by now — I would have proposed in May if things hadn’t fallen apart.
Even though we broke up in October, we still saw each other again. We went on a date not too long after — to the fair — and it felt warm. Then we went on another date in March, and it went really well. She told me afterward that it reminded her of why our relationship had been so good. But at the time, she was struggling. Even though she already had a job and a career, she was in a space of trying to figure out what she really wanted to do in life. It seemed like that inner conflict was part of what was holding her back from fully leaning in again.
On April 28th of this year, she emailed me saying she didn’t want to be with me now or in the future. That was the last time we spoke. I didn’t argue. I didn’t try to convince her. I just quietly went no contact.
Since then, I haven’t reached out once. No texts. No calls. No likes. Nothing. I went silent out of respect — out of love — not out of spite.
A week later, on May 4th, I was baptized. That was huge for me.
On May 11th — one day before my birthday — she blocked me on ***.
Then around June 2nd or 3rd (just after her birthday), she unblocked me. Still no contact between us.
Then, about two weeks ago, her therapist friend reached out to me and asked me to participate in a Men’s Mental Health Awareness video for her *** page. I asked if she had cleared it with my ex — because I still deeply respect her. She said yes, of course. “That’s my girl,” she said.
So I agreed to do it. I made the video. I spoke confidently about self-control, mental strength, and purpose. It was posted as a collaboration between me and her friend — not even something I put out on my own. I hoped it would help someone.
That same day the video was posted… my ex blocked me again.
Still, I’ve kept silent.
I’ve only posted a few things since April 28th:
• My baptism (which mattered deeply to me)
• That I got my real estate license
• And this mental health video, which was invited by her friend and approved by her.
I have a decent job now. I make enough to provide for a family. I’m single. I don’t have kids. And I’ve just been quietly rebuilding, praying, and growing.
Also — full transparency — I used ChatGPT Chat to help me write this out. I knew it would be long, and I really wanted to express it clearly instead of typing it all out from scratch.
But I can’t lie — this has been painful.
That woman was my best friend.
So now I’m asking — what does all this really say?
What are the real, logical thoughts on the situation?
Because I didn’t go silent to prove a point.
I went silent because I loved her enough to respect her space… even if it meant walking alone.
You've been doing so great!
Your loved for your past relationships
And getting back on journey
Is such a very inspiring ✨
Hope you have a great journey ahead of you! god bless 🙏🏻
Her behaviors are so weird?
It seems like she might have wanted you to fight for the relationship maybe? To chase after her?
Some people do it so they can feel wanted.

Thank you for sharing. I think she has a lot of inner conflict going on. She gives herself access to you and then takes it away, maybe to protect herself, maybe to be nosy? Who’s to say why. But I think in the end, she’s just trying to stick to her decision. I’m so glad you’ve gotten baptized and are focusing on the Lord.
Can you tell me how you went no contact? I’m going through the same thing right now and reaching out has been my biggest struggle. Every time I reach out I either try to be a friend or I’m begging for him to change his mind. He said he’ll never be with me again and he just wants to work on himself but that he still loves and cares about me.
