Breakup

I’ve been going through a really intense breakup with someone I was very close to for about three years, and since it happened I feel like my whole life has fallen apart emotionally. I think about her constantly, I see her in my dreams almost every night, and I often wake up feeling like she texted me only to realize she didn’t, which makes the mornings really hard. I’ve lost a noticeable amount of weight because I’ve had a hard time eating, I can’t focus in school like I used to, and I keep getting stuck overanalyzing small things like whether she looks at me or what she posts online. Even though I still care about her deeply and miss her a lot, I feel like I’m stuck in a cycle where everything reminds me of her and I can’t really move forward right now. I just don’t know what to do

@kohen

😔

I'm sorry you are struggling so much.

The intensity will ease off.

Despite not feeling like it right now.

It's important to give yourself time and space to heal and to throw yourself I to something new to keep your mind occupied 💙

Hi there, I’m going thru the exact same thing and it’s pretty intense. The dreams and mornings after are so real, I thought it was just me. I made a promise w myself that I wouldn’t do anything abt it anymore since he didn’t want to try anymore . I am sending you lots of healing and know that you are not alone carrying this feeling even if feels like the most lonely time. It will get better, create a new life for yourself , you will get over it !

I also have just been broken up with, fresh from the wound. 6 years. You are not alone, my heart goes to you!

I hear you, and I am so sorry you're going through this. Losing someone after three years is a massive, heavy loss, and it makes total sense that your mind and body are completely exhausted right now. Waking up to that immediate wave of disappointment, losing your appetite, and constantly looping through memories or social media is just a brutal reflection of how deeply you cared. It’s entirely valid that you feel stuck and can't focus on school right now. For now, please just try to be incredibly gentle with yourself, take things one literal hour at a time, and focus on basic things like drinking a little water or eating whatever small snacks you can manage. You don't have to have it all figured out today.
