Dealing with Heartache from Breaking Up
Its been several months since she and I last held hands, held each other in a warm embrace, kissed each other's lips...but the pain and anguish are still as fresh as they were the day the world fell apart! I struggle every day with the notion that she's never coming back - that she chooses him (even though he's never been anything more than a monster to her - but she can't see it!). The tears won't stop - the proverbial knife in my heart keeps twisting - and yet, I can't let her go! WTF is wrong with me?!
@LonelyWorkingStiff
Nothing is wrong with you. It isn't wrong to hurt, and feel the pain for however long it takes to process it. "The tears won't stop," until inevitably, one day, they will. The pain provides evidence of your devotion and the value you placed on the relationship. That means you're a good and faithful person who deserves a good relationship. Relationships that succeed are indebted to those that led to both pain and wisdom.
For many months, no one could convince me that the pain would end. I hid from the world, woke up crying at night and was immobilized by grief. I'm okay now. I hope you will be as well.
