Going through a breakup but want to fight for our love

So I know I am mostly to blame for this unusual situation but I am from the UK and she is from Philippines. We met few years a go and she came to see me in London (then COVID happened).

We reconnected and met in Singapore and realised how good we are together that I met her again in Philippines in December last year. But in between then we was rubbish at making time for video calls or virtual dating and she mentioned it a few times but we both became busy and it just got slack. We would still text and exchange flirty messages every day.

We was supposed to meet in Vietnam last month and that was where I was going to surprise her and ask her to be my GF. However, she says her feelings have changed and the distance has made her feel apart that she doesn't want to carry on anymore. She was also meant to be coming to the UK for 3 months later this year and then we was going to look to move to one or the other countries and had even spoken about having kids together.

I know I messed up with the communication, and I know not seeing each other has made her feel distant. I want to go out there and ask her to meet me for a drink so we can talk about our issues and hopefully see if the connection is still there. Is this a good idea?

@redBranch6583

Hi there redBranch6583!

I can imagine it's not easy to manage a long distance relationship. Sounds more challenging mostly at the beginnin. It's good that you aknowledged what could have played a role in deteriorating it, and it would be great if you guys could discuss it together and see if there is room again for a fresh start!

I see many positive aspects in communicating, so meeting to talk about it is itself a good idea, just I don't know her nor her current state of mind, you know that better so see if asking to meet and talk is something potentially good.

Feel free to post again for updates!
