@emeraldstones I'm sorry to hear you've been through this emeraldstones, infidelity is a tough one to get through, what with the shock of betrayal, anger and hurt that it causes. The doyenne of relationship and betrayal advice is Esther Perel, who takes the view that infidelity doesn't have to mean the end of the relationship, but can be the crisis that creates a new opportunity for a couple to re-evaluate. One point she makes that I found very striking was that very often the partner who cheats doesn't want out of their relationship, but rather away from who they've become. I've linked to an article that discusses more about her work, she's also got a podcast. Hoping this helps, emeraldstones - the community is here for you and you're not on your own in this.

Leave the past in the past, not sure if it ever gets any easier or not when you have been devastated by the one you love the most.... I too can relate been trying to heal from my partner and its been a couple of years and I still break down and cry when I am reminded of the situation.... I have found that a positive coping mechanism has helped me more than anything, a hobby just some positive and something that you enjoy... I read poetry to help me focus on a topic other than my partners' betrayal..... hope you find some peace...

It is a rough road. It’s all about transparency and trust. They have to accept and own up to their issues as well as try to prove they’re not going to repeat the infidelity. But if both of you are serious about it and want the relationship to work. You’ll be able to get through it.

If a house has a broken window you don’t leave the house just rebuild

@emeraldstones.. Give yourself space to feel_anger, sadness, confusion, etc. don't rush yourself. work on your self worth. reconnect with your strengths and make yourself feel whole. make sure you take care of your health, eat, exercise, read a book, listen to music, treat yourself. whatever you are feeling right now is ok. no pressure. its fine to have many feelings about that situation. you dont have all the answers and i dont either. healing takes time, take one moment at a time. you got this and i hope things get better 😊
