My wife can't seem to let go of the fact I've been married before. Its destroying our emotional and physical intimacy because it consumes her all day. Even when we have sex now she says she cant think or anything but my ex wife and me having sex. We use to be so on fire for each other physically we always kissed, madeout, touched, cuddled and had lots of sex. Now she just cant stop obsessing over my ex wife. Then she has severe trust issues and can't trust anything I say. I don't have kids, no contact or anything with my ex wife. Dont even think about her. She always second guessed my timeline that i told her about with my ex wife. One day in November we got into a huge argument and she ended up calling my ex wife to confirm what i said was true and then imagine that my ex wife's story wasnt the same. Now she doesnt know what to believe there either because her mind connects some of my actions to things my ex wife says. I dont know how to handle the situation. Anybody have advice? I reassure her all the time that ive never loved, cared or wanted something so badly in my life but its exhausting when she doesnt trust me or cant let go of my past and always throws it up in my face that ive been married and did it for the wrong reason and took an oath to God and how i wasnt true to myself then. She says i could have had sex with whoever i wanted in the past but the fact i had a wife before her and had sex destroys her. She can not let go of my past. Heres an interaction today.

I've provided proof for things and never lied to her before. Even just now, I called Wells Fargo and got the balance on the rings for us. Wells Fargo said I have til September to pay them off, and the jeweler said I have til July. Now she thinks bc I told her initially what the jeweler told me that i am lying or hiding something about it. Why would i hide something to destroy my credit?

Her response was "I am still bothered and confused how you magically got several months free of finance on the rings" I have not hid anything from her or lied to her.

@forcefulBirch667 I'm sorry, but most likely your wife is possessive and a little egocentric. In any case, this is an unhealthy reaction of a person who once upon a time received trauma associated with a similar situation. I would like to be wrong, but it is true. Over time, this intensifies and thoughts similar to your wife's thoughts roll in like a snowball. If this does not bother you, but confuses her, and if you try to do everything possible - you are great. But if you can't do anything else - show a little persistence. Your marriage is yours, your feelings are important, but you cannot change the past. If she does not accept this, then your life will be even more difficult. Perhaps a psychotherapist will help you, or perhaps a breakup. In any case, you must be calm, but maintain yourself. Any concession will lead to even greater demands. So hold on!
