My husband's friend hates me

My husband group of friends are cool with me in general however one of them always trying to make problems with me and between me and my husband ( he told him I'm controlling and manipulative before ).lately I figured out that he talks *** behind my back he says he saw me flirting with someone . When I confronted him he said he has wetness and when I talked with the guy in front of him we proved he was lying but he never admitted to it and started saying random stuff like "none likes u here anyways" "Our group of friends always complaiins about how mean u are " . After some time he never stopped his *** so he had a fight with my husband then he apologized to him.
I want to know why is he doing this is his problem me or my husband or out of jealousy of us?
What should I do so he leaves me and my relationship alone? (He's still making problems between me and my husband)
And why is my husband still friends with him?
(We talked about it and he said he's friends with him because he's fun to hung out with)
