Need a lot of opinions

The situation is: party A had a lot of emotional walls and defensive mechanisms from being hurt. Party B won’t believe that those things can inhibit how you feel emotions toward someone if they are not dealt with the right way. And as a result can’t let themself fall back in love completely with party A.
Do you agree or disagree that unresolved issues can keep you from falling in love?

I agree that the unresolved issues would make it hard to fall in love again but it shouldn't be impossible.
