Hi everyone,

I have been exploring therapy for a little bit now and having a hard time finding a place to feel comfortable sharing … I have a lot to unpack, or so it feels these days. It’s been heavy and just looking to feel a little lighter .. and brighter.

Im a 40+ year old female, married, and a mama’. I’m not one to air my “dirty laundry” in social groups, with my friends, or my family for that matter. Probably because I simply don’t trust anyone to keep what I say private or to listen without judgement.

Im usually very easy going, happy go lucky and positive but lately I’ve had this internal struggle .. and as mentioned earlier, it feels heavy and being happy almost feels forced (if that makes any sense). To meet me you would never know it … but I think that’s what where the problem lies .. right ?! Is this menopause?!? Lol, ugh.

Anyway, thank you for having me.

Feeling a heaviness and a struggle internally, even when you appear happy on the outside, can be quite confusing and draining. I'm not a medical professional, but it's possible that hormonal changes associated with menopause could contribute to these emotions. It might be helpful to discuss your concerns with a healthcare provider to get a better understanding of what you're experiencing. In the meantime, I'm here to lend an ear and offer support if you need it. It's brave of you to reach out and share your feelings

I often wonder the same thing!!!! I used to handle things so much better/easier and now that I’m in my late-ish 40’s find my emotional wellbeing is so much more fragile. Totally get the while “forcing myself to be happy” part. It just doesn’t feel right at times. Please let me know if you need to chat. Kinda nice (sorry, don’t mean that in a non-caring way) to know it’s not just me!

Hi You,

Isn't this a great thing about this app that you can just share what you are feeling, anonymously, without judgement?

I have been on this app a few years back, when I was having my internal struggle and this app helped a lot. To bring clarity, to make me realise I was not making things up and I was not crazy, to stand my ground and come out of the struggle.

Now that I am wayyyy better. I am back on the help to try to make others feel wayyyyyyy better too.

This might be menopause, or not. But whatever it may be, you are not alone. You do have someone to talk to :)
