Observing People.
When I am at work, I observe people's body language all the time. Trying to figure them out. I did this for years. But this year I started backing off on that. The reason why, is after 22 years of it, I began to realize that I could observe all I wanted but it never helped anything. It is a lot like bird watching. Or watching the grass grow. Unless you are able to communicate with the people are observing, then what is the point really? Sometimes I talk to the teachers at work but I usually they are too busy for me. Back in the old days, I had some co-workers I could talk too. But they all retired, and the new guy we got, doesn't talk. I have tried talking to him. But usually He takes his hearing aids out. He's not that interested in talking to people.
In case you don't know. I'm a 2nd shift Janitor for a school.

Yeah, that's me again 😉
You reminded me one of my weirdest ideas when I was an adult teenager. Walking on the streets to relax sometimes I liked to look at the windows of the houses and flats I was passing by. I imagined the families leaving there, the relationships between family members, their hobbies and their ways of spending time (like watching the evening news, or playing a computer, or talking to each other). These were the times before those darn blinking cold LED lights were invented, so everything looked so warm and homely in the yellowish bulb light. Especially when it was cold and dark outside.
It was like looking for a world that was different from my unsafe and turbulent family home. Or, for just another version of that. The world I wasn't invited to. I wonder if your feelings are similar?
Or maybe it's like just checking if someone is safe enough to talk to him or her?
But actually I don't like people staring at me. I think one blink of an eye and a smile is sometimes enough to know someone better. I find staring at me fairly offensive and cold.
By the way, I am just a warehouse worker with a degree, if that changes anything 😊
