Relationship Trauma ig?

Genuinely how does one deal with the feeling of like- waiting for the other shoe to drop in a relationship? Like, I'm always waiting for something to happen and my current bf to start treating me how I've been treated in the past. How can I cope with this and/or diminish the feeling?

Hello @Vinceeeeee.

I doubt your negative thoughts will ever go away.. but when a thought enters your mind refocus and force your mind to think of a positive thought. Continue with this idea as often as you can remember to do it..

You sound like you have been in a lot of bad relationships..  Over time all the negativity has built up in your mind and it may be clouding your reasoning and judgment..

I am hoping things will work out great for you!🌟

@Vinceeeeee Past relationships can make your brain expect the same hurt to happen again, even in a healthy relationship. When those thoughts come up, try asking yourself if your boyfriend is actually giving you reasons to worry, or if it’s fear from past experiences. Healing takes time, consistency, and reminding yourself that your current relationship is not your past one.
