Supporting My Boyfriend
My boyfriend is in a pretty stressful situation with school and his parents and keeping up the motivation to get through it all. I want to help him really badly but sometimes I feel like I don't know what to do. When he texts me telling me about how all his days are monotonous and blending together and how he wishes he could stop dealing with everything and stop existing, it's honestly really scary. I try to give reassurance and encouraging words but I'm pretty bad at it and I feel like nothing I do helps. When I voice my feelings he always tells me that I do great by listening and that I help already, but I'm terrified that his life might be falling apart and I'm passively just yapping my mouth off until it's too late and he ends up hurting himself. I tried to gently suggest a therapist to him, but he told me that he always resolves it himself and that it's "fine" and not a big deal. I'm sure he's fully capable, and I don't want to doubt that, but I also want him to feel happy and safe. I always wish I could do more for him. It breaks my heart to see him in pain. Any suggestions or tips?
