@Themo5

Hello. Your description of the situation doesn't seem to be very clear (but I assume that is way it was supposed to be), but...

First, take a deep breath.

How would you see the entire situation with the eyes of a third-party passer-by? Try to imagine it's not about you and not go too deep into emotions. What would you see? What actually happened? What are the facts?

You could also consider what circumstances could have made you act some way (like: "I felt lonely and tired", or: "I felt the thrill of a fun"). It's not about taking your guilt away, but about checking what factors could mislead you or contribute to your taking the wrong decision.

If you could travel in time and met yourself five or ten years older than now: what could you say to yourself, how would you see the problem?

Last but not least, what know? What are you going to do? What would you want to do, and what you think you should do? Is the former and the latter the same thing, or do you feel at the crossroads?

Hey Themo5,

Whatever happened, I just want to start by saying this you’re not alone in feeling like you’ve made a mistake so big it’s hard to breathe around it. Guilt can be crushing, especially when it’s tied up in love and a future you’re building with someone.

The hardest part is often not the mistake itself, but the silence that follows. Carrying it alone, feeling like you can’t even be honest with yourself, let alone anyone else — that creates a pressure cooker in your mind. It makes everything feel bigger, more unbearable.

But here’s something to hold onto: being overwhelmed by guilt means your conscience is alive. You care. You’re not numb to what’s happened. And while that might not feel like comfort now, it means there’s a part of you still trying to make things right, somehow.

Falling in love and getting engaged doesn’t erase the past. But it doesn’t mean you’re unworthy of love or incapable of growth either. You don’t have to figure everything out at once. You don’t have to punish yourself forever. You just need to start being honest with you, gently and without shame.

If it ever feels like too much, speak here. No judgment. Just people who understand what it’s like to feel buried in regret.

You’re still allowed to move forward. Even from this.
