Waiting for his response is killing me
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year now. Things have been pretty good between us. We have never fought or argued about anything, we have always talked about or much everything. That changed a couple weeks ago. He pretty much went completely silent on me. That lasted for 8 days. When he finally reached back out, he told me what was going on. Even though I was a bit upset about the whole thing, I tried to understand it. I didn’t really say much about it afterwards and just wanted to let it go and for us to just continue on. Our communication has been a bit sporadic lately but that is because he has alot going on and I understand that so I am not being pushy at all. He sent me a message this morning saying that he feels like he is letting me down, that he has just had a lot going on and that he doesn’t think it is fair to keep me on hold, that I should have to suffer. But here is the thing… I don’t feel like I am suffering. In fact I know that once things settle down for him we will be right back to normal. I told him this. I also told him that. The problem is that not I have started overthinking things like instead of taking his message for what it actually was, now I can’t help but think that maybe this was his way of trying to gently end things. I do not really think that is the case, I believe that he wants to work at it just without the extra pressure at the moment. I just can’t get rid of these stupid thoughts.

It's completely understandable that you're grappling with mixed emotions right now. Relationships can encounter rough patches, and it's evident that your boyfriend is navigating through a challenging time. Your capacity for understanding and willingness to give him space speaks volumes about the strength of your connection. It's crucial to trust in the foundation you've built over the past year and acknowledge that people go through ups and downs. Your reassurance to him, expressing your belief in the resilience of your relationship once things settle down, reflects a deep sense of commitment. Remember, it's okay to have moments of uncertainty, but allow yourself the grace to trust in the bond you share and the potential for growth both as individuals and as a couple.
