letting go of a toxic friend
im not sure why I feel like this i had a friend whom I was very close with and we had so many common interests well it all changed when she introduced me to a guy who she said was. A good person
He wasnt he made me feel less than and made jokes abut personal things that made me uncomfortable however the worst thing was that he would threatened and hurt my friends by shorting them with an orbeez gun for telling me then things he said
I broke up with him and told this friend she should stay away from him but she didnt she actually turned on me and tried to tell me I was overreacting and stayed getting closer to him ( putting arms around etc.)
I ended that friendship and idk how to feel on one hand ik that I would have better luck talking to a wall than talking to her but part of me thinks that im in the worng am I overreacting ?
Then I have days like today where I want karma to get both of them back i find it unfair that I suffered just for them to act like the best of friends I had to switch seats in class and feel her staring and talking to her friends about me
I talked to other friends about it and they all said I was right to make my choice and told me how she always made them uncomfortable with not respecting boundaries
I honestly just want some opinions I feel right for my choice but want both of them to pay the consequences . Is this wrong? How do I move on and just let them live? I dont want to grow resentful and focus my energy on them if you have any suggestions please let me know I would appreciate it

If you always look at what is happening with other people, and concern yourself with what they are doing, and if your whole life is about how they behave and how they make you feel all the time - Then you will never know peace. Because you live this life for yourself, but if you make it instead about other people then you surrender all your power to them, and you will constantly feel powerless, never in control.
Think for yourself. Trust your own judgement. You are very perceptive- I can see it in your analysis of the situation and your knowledge of the dangers of resentment. What you need now is to have courage in your convictions and to be more confident in your own beliefs! One day you will look at how these people behave and realize it is petty and inconsequential in the bigger picture. If your ex-friend wants to seek the attentions of toxic people, she can do that. It will be her problem later to deal with. We all choose the people in our lives. We choose the things we focus on.
So choose yourself! Focus on you. You're not a toy, or a puppet. You’re in control. Stop surrendering your power to other people .

Thank you thank you this means so much I have felt this way for some time wanting to just step away and let them deal with the consequences for their actions but felt like I was giving up and not trying to fight so its nice to hear those words from someone else instead of from my thoughts thank you so much😊
