Been with my wife for 6 years. The last 7 month things have changed. All she does is sit on her phone/social apps. She seems to have lost the (spark). She has been talking to other people about how’s she is feeling and her life. Wondering if I’m asking to much for her to spend more time with me instead of the phone.

@humorousRaspberries9413,

as you said yourself, something has changed. Asking your wife to spend more time with you is not what I'd suggest. She is spending less time with you for a reason. I'd sit down with your, share your feelings and concerns. Stay with yourself, don't go like "you're always on your phone", that might just pull her back more. Don't finger-point, ever. Maybe you can treat her the way you did when your relationship or marriage was still new. Maybe it is just the spark, maybe she started looking for a spark somewhere else, that doesn't necessarily mean, looking for someone else. Main point is, talk to her, and don't think. You don't know so why upsetting yourself? Counseling could do wonders, if both of you are open to it. Don't push it though.

I think we have all had a strange year with covid and the restrictions have certainly had an impact. My partner also has spent more time on his phone lately and basically has fallen into the dopamine addiction trap that these apps have been designed to do. Your wife or my partner are not to blame entirely for being distracted by their phone, it just gives a short cut for the brain to get a dopamine fix. In regards to the lost spark, again social media shows a perfect world to compare with or bombards with negative comments. It's an overload which I believe clouds their senses. I'm giving it time with him as we come out of lockdown and regain real life social contact and that he will return to reconnecting with the people around him and not the thousands of strangers he watches on tiktok. If he does not change I will have a conversation to explain the choice he needs to make of who is important in his life. I wish you luck and keep loving your wife, she is lost at the moment.
