Boyfriend being shady what do I do? (Rant)
My boyfriend was bummed about something tonight and he wouldn’t talk much and made it clear he didn’t feel like it. I still asked him things to get him to tell me what’s wrong and I thought we talked enough to get better but he stayed that way the whole night even if we said everything. Then he said he wanted time to himself again. He’d taken a few minutes earlier and then he said he wanted to sleep by himself just cause. He told me he wanted to start sleeping on the phone with me every night because we don’t get to spend much time with each other and because he says the noises of me moving around and from what he says, snoring, help him sleep. I usually don’t mind either way but if he says he’s gonna do something I want him to stick to it. Tonight he and I both ended up being upset about things but I tried to help him and he kinda just ignored me. He went to sleep by himself knowing I can’t sleep when I’m stressed and that he’d promised he wouldn’t leave at the slightest inconvenience anymore. I have no clue why he did this but he went to sleep for an hour and set and alarm to call me back and sleep on the phone. He already made his choice so what’s the point? I’m suspicious of this because when he first started sleeping on the phone with me he did a similar thing everyday for like 2-3 weeks. He’d call me exactly an hour after hanging up claiming he wants to try to sleep by himself and if he can’t he calls me. It felt like he was doing other things or talking to someone else for an hour then coming back to me. Right now it feels like he only wants to call when he wants to not when I feel I need him. I feel he puts his sadness above mine every time and I give him comfort but he just leaves me when I’m upset. I’ve told him that’s the last thing I want him to do but he does it anyway. Then pretends he doesn’t know what I want. I’m worried he’s just using me so he won’t be alone.

Is there a reason to feel he may be using the hour to talk to someone else? Is his mood etc different when he comes back? If he doesn't want to communicate, it becomes a challenge to keep guessing. I agree with you, from all the situations you describe, it looks like he prioritizes his emotions over your needs.
