Dating
I went on a date last week with a guy I met online and had been texting for 9 months (pandemic restrictions+exams). I thought the date went well but when asked him for a second date he said he didn’t think we were right for each other bc of our personalities being different which is weird because my personality online and in person are the exact same. I think he’s being hasty because first dates are often awkward and nerve wracking so I’m just confused 😕 I’m heartbroken because I really do like him and also because I have never invested so much time into talking/getting to know someone before dating them. I really want to see him again and ask for a second chance but idk what to do??
@sadgirlxo20 Move on you will find someone else and its probably best you don't get attached to people online since a lot of the interactions are short-term.
9 months is a long time and I’m already attached now lol Just don’t know how to proceed :/
@sadgirlxo20 I have no idea I don't really go on dates u can share your story on the sharing circle but we don't give out advice there just listen.
Actually i had the same situation, I asked a second date which was much better than the first one! So i think you are right first date in person could be awkward,so i d definitely ask him for a second date :) maybe its gonna be better, I wish u good luck!!!!!🥰🥰
@sadgirlxo20 I am sorry you are going through this experience, and I understand the feeling since I have gone through something similar myself. The only advice I can give you is to stop pursuing him and let things be what they are. Don't dwell too much on his explanation on why he doesn't feel like going out on a second date. He might have told you the truth or there may be some other reason, but that doesn't matter. The fact remains that he doesn't want a second date. Think of it like this: if it was the other way around, and it was you who didn't feel the sparks and rejected a second date, how would you feel if he kept insisting? It'd probably be uncomfortable for you, wouldn't it?
And think of it this way: you deserve to be with someone who chooses to be with you because he wants to, because he loves your company, who values the time you are sharing with him, and not just because you insisted on it. Looking at it on the bright side, this experience may have shown you what interest, attraction and love means to you, both in terms of giving and receiving. That's what you gained for all you invested, which means you now know how to love others and yourself better, and perhaps have a better idea of what you want from a partner and a relationship.
I know this is sad to read. Trust me, someone better will come along, someone you won't have to ask for a second chance on a second date, likely because he will be the one to ask you out again. Until then, allow yourself to grieve over this experience (remember, it is ok to feel your feelings!) and do things you love and make you happy. When you least expect it love will come knocking at your door again.
