Friend issue :)

This is a post for my friend, she doesn’t have app - me and this guy who i’m super close had a partially intimate relationship with at one point but he found religion and now we are back to very very close friends, but I want a relationship. He says there’s hope but not while in college and he would love if I was in the same religion as him he’s open to my religious journey, but I’m torn on what to do. Do I wait, do I forget this all? - were still so close, and gives me certain hope but also gives me signs based in his religious values that it won’t work. Any advice? I’m stressed over this
