Heart vs Mind
I've been needing to talk for a while now, but I have no one to talk to (that would be unbiased).
I've been in a relationship for 8 years now. We don't have kids together, but he has 2 boys from a previous marriage and I have a girl from a previous marriage.
I feel like I have spent the entire relationship begging him to show emotional affection and support. He "jokes" around constantly, which I love when someone can make me smile, but his joking is to the point of bullying. He hurts my feelings, even after I beg him to stop. He never apologizes for any of it. He won't help with things around the house, and just complains about everything.
I've explained, too many times to count, what I need in a relationship and I feel like it has always fallen on deaf ears. I feel no support, no desire, no relationship. It's as if we are roommates, not even in a relationship.
I know for my own mental health, our relationship needs to end. My biggest problem is his boys. If we break up, he'll have no where to go. He won't be able to afford a place to live, and I can't kick his children out. I feel trapped.
Write this all down for him, pass it to him with a beer.. 1 things that need to change 2 things I would like to change...
