Is this relationship worth saving?
Hi everyone so I’ve been with someone for going on 5 years now and we have a lot of history. We live together for about 4 years now. In the Begining our relationship was awesome, but the last 2 years have been horrible. I notice that he was messaging other women and men and sending pictures of his private parts to them. I expressed my concerns about this a lot of times and he’s been doing the same thing over and over again after he’s promised to stop. He’s even went on video chat with other men and women. I’m at the point where I’m ready to leave, I’ve got so fed up that I’ve met up with other people and tried to numb my feelings for him but it’s just made me feel very guilty. Do you think he can change or is this relationship just over?
Hey WillingBalloon4638! In my opinion you already made a decision. You feel guilty because you are not the kind of person that would harm another, even if they’ve done something bad. I think you should let go and find your own happiness somewhere else. Whoever you are with should always prioritize YOU! Don’t forget that. Rupi Kaur “you left And I wanted you still Yet I deserved someone Who was willing to stay” 🤍
I’d say over. You both are clearly into other people. It’s ok to still be attached in a sense emotionally but physically it’s done. I think you need to move out of living together and find someone more suited for you.
I agree with the others. It is over. Yes, it is sad for the two of you. But more importantly to you. Because you had more invested in the relationship and hopes and dreams for it. But as you mentioned, and you are seeing now (unfortunately 4 years into the relationship) the two of you have different beliefs in relationships. As much as we like to hold onto this love we felt and had. Someone who doesn’t respect their partner, and continues doing the wrong after discussing the concern, won’t change. You will just continue living in a life of empty love with him. No one deserves that. The difficult part is facing the fact, accepting the truth, and ending the relationship. Once you can get by that, you have to keep looking forward and moving forward. Do NOT look back, have second thoughts, or let him try to talk you into coming back because he changed. The only cheater who will change is one that will show remorse and want you to do everything to help them from their first time caught. From what you said, he hasn’t shown that. So, he will just keep doing it again. And why wouldn’t any cheater, if they know they can get you back whenever they want you. There IS a right person for you out there. You WILL find him. Let that guy go, and go find that real Mr. Right!
Thanks everyone I will try my best to do the right thing. I just hope that I’m strong enough and don’t go back on it :(
Good morning 😇 I personally feel like any relationship is worth saving if both people have that idea in mind. You can’t be the only one who wants to love and respect during the relationship, it has to be both-sided. The fact that you went to go and try to “numb your pain”, only makes/made things worse, always remember 2 wrongs don’t make a right. They cancel eachother out. You both have to look within yourselves and then come together with a plan of action to be good to one another, or do good by eachother and just leave it alone. You are taking the right steps, you’re trying to get advice and make things right. He also has to do the same thing ❤️ I hope this helps.
There are support groups out there for partners that have porn and sex addictions, and also support groups for the addicted. BUT you’re not married, right? My view is that if you’re not married, you’re totally free to walk away without ANY guilt at ANY time. And even if you’re married, YOU decide what you can live with. Hope this helps!
Sometimes the best way for somebody to learn is to let them go. Once if the guy realize what the person they lost they would either not care about it or change themselves greatly.
