Love for Artist
Hello everyone. Few months ago, I've rediscovered a group of artists, the Bee Gees and I realized I am attracted (may be more than attracted) to Robin Gibb. However, he passed away 8 years ago. He was unconventionally handsome, funny and witty. I know he's not here anymore but it feels like he's just around somewhere because I listen to their music everyday. The thought of him makes me happy and content about life but I am afraid I am being weird and kind of wasting my time on someone who's not here. What do you think?
@fairmindedStrawberries3736 Art, especially music I think, can speak to us on a very deep level. It's normal to feel a bond between you and the artist whose art has an impact on your life and the fact that he's not here anymore doesn't make it weird, because his spirit is still alive in his music and it can still inspire you or basically make you happy. You're not wasting your time, you're finding out that music can be a powerful way of communication and an artist can make your life better. What you're experiencing is beautiful and there is absolutely nothing wrong or weird about it.
Thank you! I feel like I have more strength to embrace this feeling now. Truly, music is a huge part of my life. The presence of it and the ability to hear are some of the things I am thankful for in my life. This group especially Robin, heals and humbles me, reminding me that the richness in life doesn't come from having the luxurious or trendiest stuff that a lot of people are raving lately.
@fairmindedStrawberries3736 I'm glad I could help. Music is a very important part of my life too, during tough moments it is my escape. I know from my own experience that it's possible to get really attached to an artist, to feel like they're the only human being in the world who understands you, to feel like they make you a better person and to be extremely grateful to them.
