My boyfriend doesn’t get me

Hello! My boyfriend and I come from different backgrounds. He is from a highly developed country in Europe while I’m from a developing country in Africa. We have been friends for over a year and we started dating a month ago when he got the chance to visit (we are currently in a LDR). The problem isn’t about the cultural differences as it is more about his inability to understand the struggles I am facing as someone coming from a lower middle class family in a developing country. I am completely aware that it’s hard to understand someone when you can’t relate to their situation, but as his girlfriend, I don’t feel supported nor heard. I don’t spend the whole day babbling about my issues. I am very optimistic and bubbly but I lose the spark sometimes like every other human being and I expect him to at least listen and sympathize instead of be overly positive. I appreciate how he is always hopeful and optimistic but he still expects my life to be as easy and obstacles-free as his. We have already discussed this but we haven’t gone too deep, and frankly, I don’t feel like bringing up the topic because I somehow end up feeling like trash. What should I do in this case? Should I keep this to myself although I feel like Im resentful?

I’d appreciate an answer from you. Thank you in advance!
