Need Marriage Advice - Husband using another app to talk to new people
(Married for 1 year and 5 months, but been together for almost 8 years)
I'm upset because last Sunday I found my husband using an app to meet other people. I mostly saw messages with women. His conversations did not mention that he was even married or even having me in his life. When the women would ask what he was doing today or any plans, he would say have plans with friends, work, or catch up at home. They would also text good morning/goodnight. I found the use of heart emoji from the girl saying thank you, and him as well, was quite disturbing to me. He had a text message towards the girl, about her nurse job as cool and "very cute" with alot of smiling emojis. The use of a lot of emoji kind of threw me off? I mean I think it was triggering me because that was how we used to talk when we first dated and it got to me. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm really upset and frustrated by the fact he was doing this and I'm living with him. I feel like I lost trust and connection with him.
Hi, I hope you are well. It is understandable that you feel hurt by your husband's behavior, you will have many questions in mind and I imagine you are feeling insecure. I state that what he did has no justification, however I think it is more useful to confront your husband about this, asking him why he did it - usually these things happen when there are gaps in the relationship. It may be time to review your relationship and work (both of you) to make it satisfying, if you want to give this story another chance. I know how hard it can be and it is difficult to help you with just one comment, know that you can turn to a listener if you need. Take care
I had similar experience. I trusted my husband so much and I never douted him even when we had long distance relationship for 2 years. Then after we're married and I was pregnant with our first baby, I also saw the messages that he was texting with other woman. Then along the years I also saw him texting other women. Some even sexting. Even though he claimed it was all just texts and nothing ever happened. I can't say I trust him because I don't ever since. I have then went on some app to talk to some people including married men or men with long term partners. What I realized is cheating can easily happen either with men or women. It's about chance, and men have higher percentage and possibilities of cheating than women. I have talked to married men and men with long term partners who told me that they are cheating on their partners and they don't even care. This is the world we are living in now. I believe they talk to other women or even having sex with other women as an escape from their reality. Everyone face their reality in different ways..
