Need guidance or advice
I'm new in relationship, it's been a week . It's my first relationship as well. He's goos, express his love, makes me feel loved. Understands whenever I'm not fine even without telling me. Says he love me.Ask to meet, everything is great but sometimes I think Am I a bet. Is he playing with me. Tho it never felt like that way. We know each other since 8 months and quite close (sharing each other pasts) from 4 months. Recently a week before he confessed and I couldn't say No. This feeling of being a bet started when I found out that some guy in our college has made a bet to make a girl his close friend. Since then I'm having this insecurity. Now I'm in relationship, so I'm more scared and it's ruining my peace. I do trust my boyfriend but this thought is ruining my peace
@resourcefulPal2468 your boyfriend sounds really lovely, i'm really sorry to hear that you're having some insecurity though and you believe it's a bet. it can be hard to shake anxiety like that off, and if you really want to know for sure, i think you should definitely try to have a talk with him about your feelings and what's been going on and explain why you're feeling that way. after all, it's only been a week that you've been dating so it's better now than later when you're further into it y'know? so, i think talking to him would be your best go at this. i wish the best for you <3
@ resourcefulPal2468,
thanks for sharing, it takes courage to do so.
I wonder why you would need a thought lke that?
The simple answer is, you don't know, so why worry?
Why worry about something you don't know?
You're very young (college), this is your first relationship, so all impressions are new.
They can be overwhelming at times and you might not be able to see the forest from the trees.
You focus on details, on doubts, on insecurities ("why me, I am not specal, on the contrary").
Don't let your thoughts take over, ever.
They only lead you astray, lead you away from who you truly are.
Whenever you feel the thoughts coming up, apply mindfulness.
For instance, focus on breathing.
Breath in and out, slowly, without putting effort in it.
Keep focusing on breathing.
Do o until you are feelng more relaxed.
You could play with breathing by breathing in something that is true, like "I love my self" and breathing out like "I am not worthy".
Whatever works for you, there are no rules, instructions.
Take care.
