Religion and Relationship
I am engaged to an amazing person who is a different religion than I am. I'm very faithful and I'm fine that she doesn't practice the same religion as I am. She loves God in her way and I do in mine. I'm afraid that, after we get married, she expects me to stop practicing my religion, which is the most important thing to me. She has told me that she doesn't want that at all. But since I don't believe in remarriage, I have frequent pangs of anxiety that she doesn't mean it or that she doesn't 100% know what we're getting into and will change her mind after it's too late and force me to choose. How do I get rid of this anxiety?
@proactiveApple6982 I understand your concern. You mentioned that you worry she doesn’t exactly know what you two are getting into so maybe you should really explain to her how important your religion is to you and express your concerns. I’ve always felt that the most important thing is honestly and so whenever something is bothering you in your relationship I believe the best thing to do is to talk things out with your partner.
