Should I keep seeing him?

I just recently went on what I guess could be considered a 2nd date with a guy even though I said I wanted to be just friends. I’m 18, and he’s 21. He is more attracted to me than I am to him, we met online and had our first in-person conversation this past Friday and Saturday nights. On Saturday he continuously kissed and hugged me throughout the night after I reciprocated the kiss (keep in mind this was my first date/outing with a guy, first time holding hands, and first kiss).

We cuddled in his car after walking on the beach and every time It would progress towards something more than kissing, I would stop us cause I don’t want him to be my first and I'm plain and simple just not ready to do anything more at this point in my life. He seemed okay with that, he didn't want to make me uncomfortable, but it felt like every time he leaned in to kiss me I had doubts about if I wanted to.

After I got home I felt gross from kissing, had to brush my teeth thoroughly since my mouth tasted bad after (don't know if that was my fault or his or both). In the moment it was okay, but I don’t know if I'd actually want to kiss him again when we meet up next time. I told him we could meet this upcoming weekend, but I'm afraid I'm leading him on since he seems more attracted to me than I am to him. (I told him I don’t think I want this to be a full-blown relationship and he seemed okay with that, I told him I want to be friends). Maybe he thinks I could mean like FWB?

I’m just worried he’ll think that me being affectionate towards him means I like him back and want this to be more when I don’t picture myself In a long term relationship. He seems overly happy when he's with me, texts first, always telling me he's so happy he got to meet me and that I'm beautiful. But is it normal for two people to be friends and kiss and cuddle each other like I've been doing? or is that blurring the lines too much?

I cant tell if I'm just using him for the attention? Cause before we met in person I told him that I'm working on myself at the moment and don't think a relationship would be best for me.

if you have any thoughts on this id greatly appreciate it :)

Hello!

If you like this guy enough that you want to keep dating him, then I don't see any problems. Don't label what's "normal" and what's not, but focus on what you want and what makes you feel good.

Of course, if you feel like this guy might have expectations about you that don't match with what you are seeking for right now, it would be worth having a conversation about it.

If he agrees to continue dating without commitment, you don't need to know more. Enjoy this relationship, whatever it is.

Take care!
