Stress/Cheating Problem

I've been struggling with forgiving my boyfriend of 1 year after I discovered 3 months back he had been virtually cheating online, on me. The situation: A girl he knew from college had messaged him via Snapchat and sent him a link for her adult only site. He had clicked the link trying to purchase a membership from her only the link failed. He had told the girl the link had failed and she sent him photos, to which he responded that she was hot, but didn't send anything back. It was a few days later I discovered this and confronted him.

Our relationship before the cheating was happy, we had no issues. After the cheating, we started to get trust back, I discovered he had made a new fake account via Snapchat. I confronted him about the account and he confessed he tried to do something again, but failed because the girl did not add him back or respond. This month everything has been going better, until 3 days ago when I came across a message via Instagram to a girl, him begging her to allow him to follow her back. I confronted him again about it and he confessed he had bad intentions, but this time not for photos.

He's agreed to go to counseling because he has a problem and seems to be a social media addict, a sexting addict. It feels like our relationship is on the rocks. I'm not happy right now, and very hurt. I've told him 3 times that he doesn't love me, because he wouldn't cheat on me. I've stayed because I have hope that he'll go through the program for his underlying problems he has and mental trauma. Since he's done this, I've gotten upset and consistently bring it up to him as payback whenever he tries to blame me for doing something wrong. A week ago before I had discovered the 3rd time, we went out with his friends and I had, had too much to drink and decided to speak badly to his friend he hadn't seen in years about our issues, since his own friend was going through the same issues with his ex-girlfriend. His friend asked for my Snapchat and I added him, only later did my boyfriend find out 2 days ago and was furious.

I'm posting this today because we've hit rock bottom it feels like. He's been very cruel to me recently. He's been very blunt and short. He and I keep going back and forth from happy to upset, and It's been the same cycle for the past 3 months. I'm not sure what to do? Do we need to end the relationship? Should we try and work things out? Do we need to stop texting eachother and let things settle down?

He has counseling this weekend he said. He's aware and has told me that these are his issues he needs to solve, that it has nothing to do with me. He has a lot of baggage from his childhood, high school, and college that he has to unpack. As he's told me he's brought his own issues into this relationship.

Well for one his issue should be your issue as well. He shouldn't have to feel like he's alone because he isn't therefore you should be with him every step of the way. You both have tried many times to make it work. But I suggest thinking it's time to see new people. If he's stopped communicating with you like he used to I suggest he's not the one. If he's being aggressive and rude something's off. If he wasn't like this before in the beginning what caused him to change so suddenly. It's your choice if you want to try to work it out but yor happiness comes first remember that.

I’d say leave him. He is looking for something else and isn’t serious as you are. Don’t waste any more of your time on him
