Thanksgiving 🦃😭
I was invited to stay with my "boyfriend" for the holiday well he didn't get off work till 1 so we were up till 3 watching TV. He just got home from being away a week in Vegas so I thought we would get "quality time". That didn't happen, then he left at 9 in the am to take his friend somewhere was gone 3 hours. We agreed we'd spend time with family then meet back up well here it is almost 7 o'clock, he isn't answering the phone, messages or anything!!! So now I'm sitting here in my feelings I'm angry, upset, sad, I feel stupid. Like honestly asking for time is too much!! I honestly don't know what to do, how to tell him how I feel except to react in anger. I need of support, by the way I'm new here so I don't know if I'm even doing this right. Thanks
Hey hi,
Just give some break from this relationship for your self. So things which you always wanted to do.
Ther can always be a possibility that your boyfriend is actually busy into something very important or he must be going thru a stressful assignments at his workplace.
Everyone have their own ways to resolve.
May be he doesn't want to pass on his stress to you.
So think over it .
@intuitiveCherry3825 I can understand wanting to spend time with him and particularly having a lot of feelings around the holidays. It sounds like he is very busy and has a weird work schedule though, so maybe this just wasn't the best timing to spend together. Maybe try to take a minute to process how you feel so that you can approach the conversation in an open way, just saying you are feeling upset you can't spend quality time and want to work on a solution to schedule something around his busy work and travel schedule.

Also would like to add, he should avoid agreeing to locking in time with you when he is uncertain about if he’s able to come through on his commitment. Especially when holidays are so chaotic - the least he could have done was answered your call to tell you that he won’t be able to make it after all, so that you know what to expect.
And if he is constantly putting you behind every other aspect in his life (his work trips, his friends, his family) then soon enough you will feel like the last priority to him and your relationship will feel neglected by him. It’s not enough to reassure people that they are important to us - who we choose everyday shows most clearly who/what is important to us.
Of course Thanksgiving and Christmas is a time intended for family, so it is reasonable also that he should want to spend time with them too. And people do need to maintain their friendships and be there for their friends also. It’s about finding a healthy balance; making sure you are included in his life as a partner, and better communicating your needs and expectations to each other to reach an understanding that comes from a place of love and compromise.
