How would you react if someone joked about having secret naked photos of you and then sharing them? And jokes are insults which are jokes. Meanwhile, venting ruins his reputation, do dont do it. The emotional load of all that is here is weighing me down and distracting me from working on something that would improve my life, and I resent that. I dont have all the time in the world to read social psychology books to figure out what's going on.

Sorry I’m a little confused. Was it you who joked about sharing his nudes or him who joked about sharing his nudes? Either way, that is a HUGE invasion of privacy, and in some cases with the right evidence can be sued. If it was yours, you have every right to talk about something that happened to YOU. One shouldn’t be made to feel like a snitch for sharing THEIR problems, and anyone who makes you feel that way is being manipulative and despicable.
