What is an appropriate response?
Hi all. Sorry this is so lengthy. But maybe it will be a fun read for you.
M 62 F 55 Living together 5 yes.
What is the appropriate response to tis text from my Gf?
Im perplexed.
You must know how deeply your words hurt. That was your intention as you stated and to end the argument.
You chose those words. Out of the blue? " embarrassed to be out in public with your big fat ***"
It's real hard to believe you dont feel that way.
Harder to believe you dont see how cruel those words are.
Yet. You see no wrong. No apology.
Why do you stay if I seem to always say things or do things that possible you off. Why do stay if you feel that way about my appearance? Why stay if you felt it necessary to hurt me so badly?
For me? So I dont get hurt? Im already hurting.
Because here we are. Stuck?
You are not doing me any favors by settling.
Or by riding it out.
I guess you and I need to decide if this is truly what we want and our true feelings for each other. Not necessity. Not obligation. Not fear.
I dont think we approach this relationship the same way.
Having a good, true, honest romantic partner and those relationship qualities are very important to me.
It's two way. It can't be forced.
Yes. I'd rather be alone than with someone who doesn’t love me romantically. Feel attracted to me. Enjoy my company. Not take me for granted.
Wants a relationship with me. Not just a relationship.
I think you love me. Care for me. I do. But not in a way needed to stay together.
If you feel embarrassed by me, you really have no business continuing this relationship. And It is unhealthy for me fighting for you to stay.
Don't get me wrong. I want this, with you But only if it's true. And it needs a lot of work.
Ugh. Sorry. I know you'd rather just ignore my lengthy texts and move on. I apologize.
I know i am part of our problem.
I apologize to you. I realize I acted up in our conversation when I didn't hear what I wanted( let's go on trip). I guess I dont like being told no. Your reasoning is valid.
