i’ve known this guy, james, for about two years... we’ve never officially dated, but we do in a way act like we’re dating. lately, things have been going really well. for a couple of months he was making me feel like just a friend so i wasn’t too stressed, but now, he’s being expressive and saying the cutest things. i was doing okay, but now i’m overthinking and i feel so anxious about it. so many guys have hurt me in the past that i just find it hard to trust. james is different though... in the two years i’ve known him, he hasn’t given me any reason to not trust him. he lives 16 hours away from me which makes things so much worse. he’s just so amazing and i’m terrified of the what ifs... you know like what if he hurts me like the others, what if he’s playing with me, what if he doesn’t like me... all those thoughts consume my mind and then i get so anxious and it’s frustrating. i just don’t want to ruin things with him because he truly is such a good guy, but i don’t know what to do to stop overthinking. does anyone else have this issue ? if so, what do you do to help you calm down a bit ?

2 years isn’t a long time to trust anyone. You still feel obligated to have that wall up. What I do everyday , is tear down a wall by doing something outside of my comfort zone or you could possibly talk to him about how you feel , if you’re trusting in THAT particular state in you guy’s friendship or whatver you got going on :)
