Are porn and fetishes really bad for you?

I've been doing nofap off an on for a while. So far, I feel pretty good. I've got a date with a girl tommorrow and I have a lot of energy.

But what I don't get is this: is there any real concrete evidence surrounding porn usage? Like positive and negative effects?

Let me give a little bit of backstory: I found out how to masturbate when I was 8, and I went through puberty watching stuff on YouTube. Honestly, I had a thing for clothes coming off and public nudity. Especially girls wearing dresses. I eventually stumbled into fetishes like omorashi and ABDL.

I admit, I had a self control problem growing up. I absorbed too much. I had depression symptoms for a while. But between therapy, medication, and just abstaining for a little while, I feel benefits from something.

But the thing that bothers me is this: both sides seem to demonize one another. One one hand, you have people saying "oh porn is a public health crisis comparable to drug use" and on the other, people are saying it's false. Not to mention I realize that going through online "porn" (I use air quotes because I've never watched extreme stuff) I found a lot of what turns me on. I've never had sex before, so I can't exactly warp my view.

And I'm worried that I may have a few irks from not masturbating. I've been having a little trouble urinating for a while.

What are you're thoughts?

I just did a quick google search on your questions - not about porn in general - but specifically about the fetishes you mentioned.

I don't have any direct experience with those activities, but since it involves restricting your normal flow, I read that it can cause UTI's which is bacteria in your bladder. That could account for your urinary difficulty.But again- we are not here to give medical advice, so I suggest you look it up yourself. I did read your concerns, and I hope you find answers from a medical viewpoint- not just what other people who do this think. Your health is most important and only you can take care of yourself.

@MusicCandy

Thanks for that. I actually knew about the UTI risk for the fetishes, to be honest. I realize it's a risk, but that's not why I feel like I had toruble urinating.

I abstained from masturbating for about 21 days, which may not seem like a lot, but I noticed a significant change. I sometimes would have to go to the bathroom a little more. I never had that problem while I was masturbating regularly.I'm not going to discount the nofap challenge, because it has helped me hone my self control, but I feel like because if that it caused that side effect.

There are different views exist in any given society.

The biggest concern Is individual instead of having a pleasure with woman instead ended up imagining that he is having sex with a woman and start amusing on itself.

It can get out of control as the opposite of sex is not present to help you. This could have adverse effects on health.

I am a Muslim and believer of Holy Quran. A book that discouraged such practice and encouraged a family life as it teach individual responsibility. And enhance happiness in life by emphasizing in establishment of sexual relationship between Husband and Wife.

Respecting woman is necessary, woman is here to help man to succeed but in order for man to succeed he needs to make his woman successful too.

Other problems that Porn is creating is it is promoting Adultary. I do believe that the society has failed to teach us the right way as it it considered a taboo issue.
