I feel like a horribly disguisting human being because I will sleep with a guy the first night i meet him, i dont put a high value on sex, and i will continue a relationship with a guy just for the sex. I find that horrible about myself.

Why do you find it horrible? Personally, I think it's ok!

Enjoying sex does not make you a "slut" in any way! That is just society's misogynistic view on women. If anyone is making you feel that way, then they have no right to do so, nor any ground to stand on. Sex is natural, and it's fun, and as long as you're not hurting anyone in the process, it's perfectly fine to have it often.

However, if this makes you feel bad for reasons that have nothing to do with how others might view your behaviour, it might be good to try to think about your feelings, why it makes you feel bad, what are your reasons for doing this, or anything like that. And of course, you can connect to any of our amazing listeners here, if you need to talk more about it :)

I would highly recommend the book called "The Ethical Slut." It's written by two therapists that both live in poly relationships. I'm not in a poly relationship but a lot of the book helps you to feel more empowered about your sexual experiences. A lot of the book talks about how we should take the word "slut" back and be proud.

<3 I'm around any time you want to talk. I understand liking sex but having the guilty feelings afterwards and I'd love to help you overcome your negativity regarding your sex life.

After a long high school relationship, I broke up with my BF when I went to college. I became very promiscuous and slept with a lot of guys. It was great fun and I look back with many happy memories. It isn't necessarily a bad thing - as long as you are being safe and having fun. Some people (me included) just really likesex and have no problem separating sex from love. I met my husband in college and we became swingers so I we are able to occasionally continue my sexual adventures. It's worked for us and we've been happily married for 2o years. I consider myself "sexually liberated" and It is a very freeing attitude.

Do whatever makes you happy and don't worry about what other people think - lifeis too short!

Please don't feel that way andthankfully we are not living in Victorian times anymore:)I had first night affairs in my life, we did not plan it, it was spontaneous and it felt right. I remember on two occasionsthe lady asked me if i now think bad of her for sleeping with me the first night. I was surprised and asked her why, her explanation made me realize how much women are still affected by gender stereotypes. Men can sleep around but women cant. Luckily, as a man i can surely tell you that most decent men don't measure a women's worth by her willingness to sleep with him on the first night. Any man that judge a women by that measure is not worth having as a friend. We/You are so much more than that. Although some back pockets of the community stillconfuse sexuality with morality most view whata man and woman wants to do behind closed doors is nobodies else's business. Decent men love sexually liberated women and decent men don't kiss and tell. There is a gender stereotype against men that they like to boast about their sex lives. That is in fact more the exception than the rule. Decent men greatly appreciate the love and intimate encounters we have with women we love and never does the word "slut" even cross our minds.

I really wish there were more men like you in the world, @Eugene. Sadly, not every man is this liberal minded, as the original post would suggest. Also, it's about the whole society. I know women who judge other women for having multiple sexual partners. I think it'll take a long time (if it ever happens) for the societal views on this to change.

Hey, don't sweat it okay. Who the hell cares what everyone else thinks about it. As long as you're okay with it then ignore everyone else about it. But if you honestly feel horrible about and want to change then I think you should first think of why you are like that and if after you find your answer if you still want to change you should get someone you love and you know just wants the best for you, a family member or best friend- and ask them to help you.

you're not a slut! it's the society's way of perceiving how we ought to hold ourselves in public and blah and all :( i wish that i can do something to change your mind about it. and i've actually slept with my boyfriend (before we got together that is ) the first time we met in over a few years (when we were still friends).

as long as you feel okay about yourself and comfortable with it, ignore whatever the rest is saying about this.

your actions regarding your body are yours, you have a right to do as you please with the people you wish to. If you are feeling badlyinside your self and beating yourself up over your own choices or labeling yourself independently of others, then that is where you need to invest your time and energy. Why are you feeling this way? What is it about the encounter that sparks these feelings? Where is this label coming from and why do you feel the need to attach it to yourself?Answering these questions will ultimately help you decide what exactly it is you are comfortable with and where your own boundaries are. If other people are causing you to feel this way about the choices you are making, then that is on them.
