So I need to ask...
According the Freud sex is a fundamental buildingblock that you life revolves around, like eating or sleeping. Now does this mean that for those of us well into our mid 20s who still have our v card or those who are asexual are not alive according to him? Or am I taking it too literal in either sense of life or sex? On one hand he could claim that remaining sexless could put us in an existential vacuum? On the other is it more vague now and more refered to as desire or what you want out of life?
Before the age of puberty, ppl don't hav sexual desires. I would argue that a 7 year old experiences Life and fulfilment, even tho it's devoid of sex
What Freud proposed was a Theory. It's never been proven to my knowledge
I think sex is just part of evolution, a necessary component required for perpetuation of the species. It certainly can be a driving force, but I don't see it as the motivation behind all desires. Ppl hav many rewarding pursuits and achievements, that hav nothing to do with sex

@ChromeLotus that's what I thought too but I was asking Freud's take on it. Ps according to him children do have sexual urges. Oral- teething and putting things in mouth. Anal- toilet training and fondness of being touched in that region. Latency- period where it is put on hold aka 3-12. Falic- 12 (puberty +) sexuality urges return. Pretty sure that's his psycho sexual stages of development. Granted some speculate that his obsession with sex goes back to him being molested as a child but who knows
