A Sexless Marriage
I don't know if anyone can help me, or even relate to what I'm going through. I need to know if there is something wrong with me, with us?
My husband and I have been together for 10 years this april. We had our first child in July. I'm honestly surprised we were even able to conceive, given that we have sex once a month if I'm lucky.
I'm a very sexual person, which he knew from the start. I love to be close to him, and sex is the closest you can be to someone. You become one person because of the connection. It also helps relieve lifes stress, and it feels great! What's wrong with that?
When we first started dating we would have sex often. Even a couple of times a day! But it became less and less as time went on. He's gone through all types of excuses. He has a headache, his body hurts, he's not in the mood. He's told me that he misses how confident I used to be, but he is constantly belittling me and making me feel bad about myself. When I try to tell him how I feel, he basically negates my feelings and doesn't care to change, he says it's just a joke. Its hard to feel confident when you are constantly berated with negativity. Now he's telling me he thinks he's asexual. He says he's still attracted to me, but when he is constantly putting me down and making comments about my weight, it's hard to believe him.
I don't know what to think, or what to do anymore. I love him so much, but I can't handle the comments or lack of sex anymore. Am I just overly focused on sex?
