My boyfriend and I have been dating for a little bit over a year. When we first met we were both going through situations that made it easier to lean on each other for support. I was changing jobs and he wanted to leave his job. I was always very supportive and wanted him to be happy and so encouraged him to leave his job and find something better for him. His health was being affected by the stress in the job and ultimately he decided to leave his job.

I feel like our "honeymoon phase" was short lived since his job uncertainty and health always took priority. I tried to be empathetic to the stresses of leaving a job and finding something else while providing a source of positivity in his life. His stress and health issues impacted our sex lives and our relationship. I understand that intimacy is important in a relationship but I was willing to be subside my needs because I just wanted him to be happy and get better physically. Its been a year and we have not been intimate nor is there any initiation. Hes gone to the doctor and have told him to lose weight, exercise and try not to stress. However, he doesnt make any effort to do so.

Meanwhile, Ive grown accustomed to a sexless relationship but I workout often to dissapate my sexual tension. I feel very alone in this relationship and I dont know if this is normal. I want to have kids some day but I dont know if my partner will be able to give me that. He and I have tried to talk about this issue we have but nothing has changed.

There is also an age difference - Im in my late 20s , hes in his early 40s.

I'm hoping that you move on.

If he chases you, that might change things.
