Boundaries, respect, and trust

Currently in a 4 year relationship, my fiancee is continually upset with me because of my stubbornness and selfishness. I disregard her requests that pertain to something I may not agree with and I upset her by going against her requests. I understand that I am in the wrong, but the cycle continues and I feel like a broken record. How can I learn to understand and empathize with her rather than write her off?
