Drained

I am emotionally and physically drained. My relationship of 10 years has been on the rocks for years now and I just don’t know how much more I have to give. I no longer feel like me. I feel like I’ve lost myself and my identity in all honesty. I’m not happy. And it’s not a simple we’ll just leave situation. If it were that easy trust me I would have done it years ago. But I get treated like nothing by my so. I don’t feel pretty enough. I can never catch his attention no matter what I do. When I try to talk to him about the way I am feeling he just blows me off like I’m crazy. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m at my wits end.

I am sorry that you are going through this. You deserve better. If you still want to try to stay in the relationship, would trying to talk to him again about it help? If not, then your happiness is worth more. I'm sorry, this is a difficult situation, especially since you have been together for so long.

Wishing you the best!

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this! I know it's really difficult with long-term relationships to have the urgency or want to leave, even when things aren't going how we'd like. It's really saddening to hear you've brought up these issues, but have felt like you've been blown off, since you can never really address the issue this way. Is there anything in particular you feel is preventing you from leaving your relationship?

Hi i am really sorry to hear your story.

Its not easy to walk away from some one u have been with for so many years...But my advice is if u have lost yourself and ur identity ...u need time to get back to who u were. I was married for 17 years he was the love of my life...but he was abusive man emotionally and physically.. he encouraged me to do drugs said it would save our marriage all it did was numb the pain. Eventually the affairs started. Dont be like me...love urself. Make u happy get back ur identity

Sounds to me like he is taking more than he is giving.

Give yourself a break, and see if you start feeling better.

If you do, your heart will catch up. whether you have to leave or he has to leave you have got to make a break for freedom. Life is too short to be in a relationship that is so painful. Wish you the very best, you are stronger than you think!

Hi. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Surely you care about this relationship but does he? You also said that if it were possible you would've left long time ago, I'm assuming the situation is really tough but note that we are here to help you with whatever you need. Try to also keep in mind that you deserve much better and things may improve if you guys have a heart to heart about the flaws of your relationship. All the best!
