Emotionally neglected by husband

Well, it's been a few months since my husband announced he was "done". I also found out last month he had an emotional affair with our coworker. (We work together). He has been malicious and rude to me at work and at home he doesn't even pay attention to me or our 2 years old. He just stays in his man cave playing video games with his friends. I had to force him to go to lunch with me today. He moved out of our bedroom to the guest room, but still wants to have sex. I'm getting tired and annoyed with it all.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this @Lolcrown86...and its not surprising that you're feeling frustrated and annoyed. He says he's "done"and doesn't sound like he is treating you and your child as you would expect and hope for in a marriage.You deserve better. Would it help to clarify where this marriage is at.. is there hope for a future or not... and how is it to be worked out. Sometimes sitting down with a third person, like a counselor, can help.In compassion and support..

@rozie

We are going to marriage counseling. There is hope for a better future together if he seeks treatment for his depression. The therapist told him he had some type of depression. So he knows this but doesn't set up solo session or anything. I called him out yesterday about him neglecting us. We had dinner and he was on his way up to his room and I asked what was he doing. He said play games. I told him I would appreciate it if you spend time with us, you have been neglecting us for a while. He did listen but looked miserable while we were having family time.

I am so sorry to hear you are going through this! You don't deserve to be treated that way, and on top of it, you're raising a toddler! That on it's own can be stressful enough. <3 Please don't hesitate to message me, any time. I'll always get back to you! You're not alone! <3

@wonderousHeart14

I'm taking a small road trip to visit our mutual friends. He doesn't know yet but I'm planning to tell him a few days before I leave. I just don't know what to tell him of why I'm leaving for a week. I'm doing it so he can get his s*** together. Any advice?

@Lolcrown86 Sorry to hear you are going through all of this, I know it can be tough for you. Ill try to point out a few things I saw while reading your thread.

" I also found out last month he had an emotional affair with our coworker. (We work together)" (This communicates that loyalty doesn't mean much to him). "He has been malicious and rude to me at work and at home he doesn't even pay attention to me or our 2 years old". (This is not fair to you, it must be awful going through all of this, a woman feels neglected, not care or loved enough when the man doesn't pay attention to her or takes care of the things he is supposed to be doing.) "He just stays in his man cave playing video games with his friends." (This part tells me he is getting very complacent on the marriage, the courting never ends even after 50 years, this tells me he is not spicing things up, adding new things to the routine so it makes it predictable and is his works like "Im already married, I don't have to do anything anymore except play video games). "I had to force him to go to lunch with me today." (In here you tried to make him step up as man, you forced him as subtle sign saying "Hey you are not taking me out, not romancing me, you are getting complacent, and I want you to step up", which is great you tried this") He moved out of our bedroom to the guest room, but still wants to have sex. I'm getting tired and annoyed with it all. (His behaviors translate "You won't play with me? then im taking my toys home" when it comes to switch to a guest room, I could see why you are annoyed, im guessing you tried to explain yourself to him, but he didn't listen, so its turning you off so you begin to shut down emotionally to him).
