Falling for my abusive ex's friend

Without too much back story, my abusive ex and I have kids together and are recently separated after police involvement. There is a protection order that makes it no contact without my written consent.

We have a mutual friend who was my exs best friend when they were younger. One of the issues that we had in our relationship was my ex accusing me of cheating on them with this friend but nothing had ever happened between us.

Since the separation, my ex is keen to reconcile. I'm less motivated to but am trying to maintain some positive relationship for the kids. With few friends around, I've become even closer with the friend mentioned before and am becoming attracted to them. It's starting to feel like an emotional affair. I feel obligated to be trying to work things through with my ex but feel emotionless toward him outside of the general love and care for his well-being as the father of our kids and someone I've cared about for such a long time.

I'm feeling really guilty but also really enjoy this friends company and attention. Maybe just because ive been in a long term abusive relationship, not sure. Am I in the wrong, do I need to stop talking to this friend and continue working on things with my ex? Do I keep talking to the friend despite the risk of something happening between us? What do I do?
