Feeling guilty about Depression
I'm sure someone has already posted a question similar to this but there are so many posts it's hard to sift through. I'm struggling with severe depression and suicidal thoughts. My boyfriend has been amazingly supportive, but I know it's hard to constantly be giving especially when I can't always afford to give it back. I'm dealing with a lot of guilt but I don't know who else to talk to or how to get help. How do I rely less on him, and if you've ever been I'm a situation similar to his, do you feel it's as draining as I'm worried it is?
I hope you get better!! :)

I'm sorry you're dealing with severe depression like that. Have you ever tried any type of therapy? Do you know what causes it -- are there specific situations where it gets worse? There are a lot of options out there, from therapy to medication to groups. It's worth it to pursue to get your quality of life back.

Hi. Severe depression and suicidal thoughts would be best handled by a professional and then supported by your significant other. Call the suicide prevention hotline and/or get in with a therapist for help to work on helping you move to a healthier place in your life and your relationship. https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org. I think sometimes we try to place significant people in our lives in shoes they cant fill.
@ali1112 This is a good point. do contact a professional because Your significant other shouldnt be your carer but your partner, it wouldnt be fair on him if you were dependent on him 100% because of your depression. If anything happened he would blame only him self and wouldnt be able to live with himself, please do seek out a professional, even if it is just for his sake :)
