Finally met

A guy I met on a dating app a couple years ago, always kept in contact with me every couple months or so. Recently I’ve decided to give them a chance, and we met in person and we had a great chemistry and connection. We both expressed that we had a good time and would like to see each other again. After the date he sent me the song “dancing in the moonlight“, and we certainly had a wonderful time and that I was even better in person, and continued some flirting. Wednesday was his birthday and I texted him and he was happy to hear from me, he said it made his day. Thursday he texted me telling me he was thinking of me, and then asked how my evening was, but didn’t reply when I asked him how his was. I haven’t heard from him since and I felt like we had a very strong connection. I have been dating casually for a long time and I have a very good gauge of telling someone’s interest or not. The only thing that’s questioning to me is that we haven’t been in consistent contact. Although our conversations are reassuring, I’m curious why he didn’t respond, and why he isn’t reaching out more if he is as interested as he came off in person and through his words.
